Media & Secure Files Pew Locker allows you to upload images (firearms, targets) and documents (receipts, trusts).
- Standard WordPress Media: If you upload images to public areas (like comments), you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors could download and extract location data.
- Pew Locker Vault: Images and documents uploaded directly to your Inventory, Logs, or Accessories are stored in a Secure Vault directory. These files are not accessible to the public or search engines. They can only be accessed by you while logged in.
Cookies
- Login Cookies: When you log in, we will set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
- Application Preference Cookies: We use local storage and cookies to remember your view preferences (e.g., whether you prefer “Grid View” or “List View”).
- Edit Cookies: If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Embedded content from other websites Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content.
Who we share your data with
- Password Resets: If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
- Payment Processing: We use Stripe to process payments for subscriptions. We do not store your full credit card number or CVC on our servers. Information is shared with Stripe only to the extent necessary for the purposes of processing payments.
- Spam Detection: Visitor comments or registrations may be checked through an automated spam detection service (e.g., Google reCAPTCHA).
How long we retain your data
- Inventory Data: We retain your inventory data indefinitely while your account is active so you can access your service.
- Deletion: If you use the “Burn Notice” feature, your data is deleted immediately and permanently. We do not retain backups of burned accounts.
- User Profile: All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data If you have an account on this site, you have the following rights:
- Export: You can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you. (You can also perform a self-service CSV Export of your inventory at any time from your dashboard).
- Erasure: You can request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. You can also perform this yourself immediately using the “Burn Notice” button. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
